North Bethesda is constantly named one of the best suburbs to live in Maryland, according to the 2020BestPlaces by Niche. Although relatively small, with only 9 square miles, North Bethesda offers many things to do and see within its borders. In its territory, you can find great restaurants, parks, entertainments, and nature walk. Residents love the easy accessibility to nearby areas, such as Chevy Chase, Silver Springs, and Rockville. Located within 4 miles of central DC, public transportation makes it easy to travel to the city center and as far as Alexandria, Virginia. For those with jobs in the city, North Bethesda offers the perfect balance between a hectic life and the tranquility of the suburbs. You can find many places to go within the week but enjoy a relaxing weekend with a walk in the many trails filled with nature.
Because of all these features, the housing market is rather busy all year long. Redfin gives it a score of 71/100 as one of the most competitive markets in the area. Homes have a median value of $563,000 and those for sale are typically listed and sold within 60 days. The number of owners vs renters is relatively similar, with an estimated of 52% and 48% respectively. I have had the pleasure of selling many properties in the area since I first became an agent. You can have so many options, such as a nice recently built apartment complex, to large townhomes and houses with large patios. There is a bit of everything for everybody.
It is definitely a great place to live for those wanting to have a simple yet active life and a perfect balance between work and personal life. I might be a little biased, giving that I have also lived in the area for the past 6 years. Neighbors are friendly and the communities are well kept.
